Biological Abstracts

Biological Abstracts is a leading reference database in the life sciences, providing abstracts to over 4,000 journals. Biological Abstracts covers the following fields and more: botany, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, evolutionary ecology, neurology and toxicology.

Biological Abstracts replaces our previous subscription to Basic Biosis. Basic Biosis was a small subset of the Biological Abstracts database, so we now have much greater access to this literature. Our new subscription covers articles back to 1969.

While this database generally does not provide the full text of indexed items, there is a link to check for the availability of full text from other sources that we subscribe to. If an item is available from an open access journal, then there will be a "full text" link to take you to the article

If you have questions, please contact David O. Bradshaw in the library (x 3059).
