ABI Inform provides U.S. and international articles on business and management.

ACLS Humanities E-Book
A digital collection of over 1,700 full-text titles offered by the ACLS in collaboration with twelve learned societies and nearly 95 contributing publishers. The result is an online, fully searchable collection of high-quality books in the humanities (mostly history). These are works of major importance to historical studies -- books that remain vital to both scholars and advanced students and are frequently cited in the literature. These titles are searchable in our library catalog.

Academic Search Premier
Academic Search Full Text Elite provides abstracts and indexing for over 8,200 scholarly journals covering the social sciences, humanities, education and more. Also offers full text for over 4,700 journals.

African-American Poetry (1750-1900)
Nearly 3,000 poems written by African-American poets in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Agricola, 1970 to the present (updated monthly)
The AGRICOLA database indexes 2,500 journals, USDA publications, state agricultural experiment station and extension services documents, FAO publications, foreign documents, conference proceedings, books, and audio-visual materials. Its subject matter covers agriculture economics and rural sociology, animal industries, animal nutrition, botany, chemistry, entomology, food and human nutrition, natural resources, plant science, soil science, veterinary medicine, and water management. Approximately 10% of the citations include abstracts.

Alternative Press Index, 1991 to present
Indexes over 250 alternative, radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines covering cultural, economic, political & social change. Coverage is international and interdisciplinary. Includes some full-text articles.

American Chemical Society Journal Search
You can search the journal collection of the American Chemical Society by title or author. All of the ACS journals are available full-text online, back to 1996.

American Civil War: Letters & Diaries
Almost 100,000 pages of primary materials, including memoirs, letters and diaries from ndividuals plus 4,000 pages of previously unpublished materials. Also inlcudes one of the most comprehensive bibliographies of Civil War letters and diaries yet published.

American National Biography

ARTstor
A repository of approximately 300,000 images covering art, architecture and archeology. The collections cover a wide variety of civilizations, time-periods, and media. The images are drawn from different sources, such as museums, archaeological teams, photo rchives, slide collections, and art reference publishers. ARTstor's software tools will support a wide range of pedagogical and research uses including: viewing and analyzing images through features such as zooming and panning, saving groups of images online for personal or shared uses, and creating and delivering presentations both online and offline.

Britannica Online contains the full text of the 32-volume Encyclopedia Britannica (both Micropaedia and Macropaedia) and hundreds of articles not found in the print Britannica, their annual Britannica Book of the Year (since 1993), Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary (10th ed.), and thousands of links to other Web sites.

Index covers nursing, allied health, biomedical and consumer health journals, publications of the American Nursing Association, and the National League for Nursing. Includes full text from over 300 journals.

CLASE/PERIODICA
Index of Latin American journals in the sciences and humanities. CLASE indexes documents published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences and humanities. PERIODICA covers journals specializing in science and technology. Offers access to more than 300,000 bibliographic citations from documents published in 2,600 scholarly journals published in the Spanish, Portuguese, French and English languages.

Clinical Pharmacology
Provides access to up-to-date, concise and clinically-relevant drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products, and new and investigational drugs. Consumers Index, 1986 to the present
Index provides access to evaluations, tests, alerts, warnings, and recalls of specific products, services, and facilities as well as abstracts of articles on all aspects of consumerism and consumer protection. Entries link to the best Internet resources and print publications for consumers. Web links provide free, direct access to the contents of full-text journals (e.g. FDA Consumer), news releases, booklets, recalls, and other sources available via the World Wide Web. Contemporary Women's Issues, 1992 to the present
Provides full text access to global information on women. This collection of documents has served as a foundation set for research involving early American history, literature, philosophy, religion, and more. Series I. Evans is "the definitive resource for information about every aspect of life in 17th- and 18th-century America."

Early Encounters in North America: Peoples, Cultures, and the Environment
A large collection of primary documents (letters, diaries, memoirs, etc.) providing early accounts of North American exploration and discovery. Includes perspectives from Native Americans, Europeans, Americans, and Africans. Also covers the environment of early North America (e.g., prints and illustrations of fauna and flora).

Earthscape
"An online resource of the global environment," Earthscape provides a wide range of information in the Earth sciences and environmental policy. The database contains hundreds of curriculum-related materials, conference proceedings, video clips, web links & resources, plus journals and books.

Ebsco Animals
Provides in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals. The database consists of indexing, abstracts, and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.

EconLit, 1969 to the present
Subject indexing and abstracts of journals and over 500 collective volumes per year, plus books, dissertations, and working papers.

Education Full Text
A database that indexes and abstracts articles from English-language periodicals and yearbooks published in the United States and elsewhere. English-language books relating to education published in 1995 or later are also indexed. Abstracting coverage begins with January 1994. Full-text coverage begins in January 1996.

Encyclopedia of Life Sciences
"The most ambitious reference work ever to be published in the biological sciences," with over 3,000 specially commissioned, peer-reviewed and continually updated articles.

English Poetry (600-1900)
Essentially the complete English poetic canon from 600 to 1900. Over 165,000 poems by more than 1,250 poets drawn from nearly 4,500 printed sources.

ERIC (Education Resources Information Center), 1966 to the present (updated quarterly)
ERIC contains citations and abstracts of the international journal and report literature in education and related fields. Subjects include all aspects of education, including child development, classroom techniques, computer education, counseling and testing, administration, higher education, library science, and vocational and adult education. Sources include more than 980 journals, educational reports, project descriptions, curriculum guides, and dissertations. There are links to many full-text documents.

Ethnic NewsWatch
A full-text general reference database of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press. The titles in Ethnic NewsWatch represent the diversity of the American population in ways that are generally not seen in the mainstream media.

Faber Poetry Library
A collection of some of the most influential poets of the twentieth century. The Faber list includes Ted Hughes, Seamus Heaney, T. S. Eliot and Sylvia Plath covering the seventy year history of this major publishing house.

In The First Person
Index of more than 3,350 collections of personal narratives, made up of diary entries, letters, and oral histories. Includes 650,000 pages of full-text by more than 15,000 individuals from all walks of life. It also contains pointers to some 3,500 audio and video files and 30,000 bibliographic records. Approximately 25% of the index points to materials that are in copyright. These materials can be purchased as a subscription.

JSTOR - The Scholarly Journal Archive
This database provides complete archives of core scholarly journals, many of which date from the 1800s (and some earlier), covering a wide range of disciplines in the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. The most recent issues of journals are not included (typically, there is a 2-5 year gap).

MLA International Bibliography, 1926 to the present (updated 10 times per year)
The Modern Language Association International Bibliography indexes 3,000 English language and foreign periodicals as well as books, book chapters, essay collections, and dissertations. Its subject matter includes critical works on literature, language, linguistics, and folklore. Reviews of literary and scholarly works are not included. Abstracts are not included.

NC LIVE Video Collection
More than 250 high quality documentary and educational video programs produced for the Public Broadcasting Corporation. The collection includes programming covering the sciences, US and world history, biography, current events, and the arts, as well as a variety of other subjects. In addition, several educational series for children are included. Includes series such as: American Experience, American Masters, Cyberchase, Frontline, Ken Burns, Liberty's Kids, and Scientific American Frontiers.

Netlibrary

Polling the Nations

The full-text article database from the American Psychological Association. Includes the full text of around 40 journals, most from 1988 to the present.

PsycINFO, 1887 to the present (updated regularly)
The PsycINFO database covers the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, and other areas. PsycINFO's coverage is worldwide, and includes references and abstracts to over 1300 journals in more than 20 languages, and to book chapters and books in the English language. Over 50,000 references are added annually. Also indexes dissertations.

PubMed (MEDLINE)
A bibliographic database from the National Library of Medicine that contains references to journal articles in the life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine. The database contains citations from 1950 to the present, with some older material. PubMed Central is the free full-text subset of PubMed.

PubMed Central
A free digital archive of full-text biomedical and life sciences journal literature. PubMed Central is a subset of the larger PubMed citation and abstract database.

Readers' Guide Full Text
A database containing comprehensive indexing and abstracting of the most popular general-interest periodicals published in the United States and Canada, plus the full text of selected periodicals. Full-text coverage begins in January 1994 for most titles.

Regional Business News
Contains abstracts for 67 regional business publications, with full text for 52 of those titles (including Business North Carolina).

Religious Periodicals
