This course introduces the student to the methods of modeling the human form from observation. Processes, such as mold making and casting, are used for taking the clay to a final form. Working from a live model in class, students will learn anatomy, skeletal structure, proportion and aesthetic elements in creating a figurative sculpture. Students will also study the works of historical and contemporary figurative sculptors.
