HIS 131 United States History I 4cr

United States History I covers the period from 1492 to 1877. Beginning with the Age of Discovery, the course examines the development of colonial societies and the transition from colonial status to independent nationhood. Following the examination of the era of the American Revolution, the course explores such topics as the Constitution of 1789, westward expansion, the rise of sectionalism, the institution of slavery, the Civil War and Reconstruction.
