HIS/WMS 230 Women in American History 4cr

The course examines the social history of women in the United States from the colonial period to the present. The course explores how such issues as race, region, ethnicity, and politics have shaped women's lives and how women, in turn, have shaped their lives in response to these issues. From examining women's history and arguing about its meaning, students should gain a richer understanding of women's experience and a new perspective on American history.
