Concentrates on spoken and written French. Students review first-year French grammar as necessary and are introduced to more advanced grammar, vocabulary and syntax. Reading selections and class conversation topics are drawn from current newspapers and periodicals and from poetry, fiction, and essays by contemporary French and francophone writers. The course is conducted entirely in French.
