LAN 465 Francophone Literature 4cr

This literature course concentrates on the 20th century. Students read a series of texts -- novels, essays, theatre. The analysis of readings will put emphasis on several topics including the relation between literary texts and other social and cultural concerns, the question of identity, post-colonialism, the family, and the relation between French and francophone literature. The aim of the course is not only to expose the student to the 20th-century francophone literature, but also to sharpen the students' skills in reading critically and writing analytically in French.
