This course focuses on assisting students to develop skills in building helping relationships, problem solving processes, and both verbal and non-verbal communication. This course creates a foundation for further coursework in social work or any disciplines that use primarily verbal communication to enhance problem-solving. Students will perform 10 hours of service helping others and will reflect on their experience as one method of determining their interest in a profession that involves helping others.
