Continues the exploration of social work knowledge and skills initiated in SWK 210 regarding social welfare policies and services. Students will learn to analyze current social policy within the context of historical and contemporary factors that shape policy. Content is presented about the political and organizational processes used to influence policy, the process of policy formulation, and the frameworks for analyzing social policies in light of the principles of social and economic justice.

SWK 210 History of Social Work and Social Welfare or permission of the instructor.
