SWK 420 Social Work Practice II: Organizations, Communities, and Large Groups 4cr

This course continues the exploration of social work knowledge and skills initiated in SWK 320. The course focuses on the formulation and analysis of social welfare policy, with emphasis on empowering people in communities to change social policy. Issues of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, oppression, and privilege will be explored within the context of generalist social work practice.
Prerequisites: SWK 306 Human Behavior and the Social Environment II and SWK 320 Social Work Practice I, or permission of the instructor.
