A study of the art, function, and process of scene design with an emphasis on both aesthetic and physical factors. Work includes research, drafting, rendering, and discussion of designs. Students are introduced to the reasoning behind scenic design choices while becoming familiar with the principles, techniques, and materials of pictorial and three-dimensional scenic design.
