WRI 211 Creative Writing: Poetry 4cr

Students write and revise original compositions in verse. The aim of the course is to help students develop an understanding of the craft of poetry and its application in their own writing, and to improve their critical skills in the reading of poems by others. These skills are fostered by writing and revising poems, doing annotations of work by published poets, and actively taking part in the process of the workshop. Students complete a portfolio of poems, which includes early and final drafts and annotations. May be repeated for credit as WRI 311.
Triad: Artistic Expression
Prerequisite: WRI 140 Creative Writing: Introduction or permission of instructor.
