Sherle Stevenson Edwards ’65
Sherle Stevenson Edwards graduated from Warren Wilson College in 1965 with an associate degree in elementary education and has since lead a life dedicated to life-long learning and the art of teaching. In over two decades of working within the Florida school system, Sherle designed and implemented the Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resource System in the state, designed centers for emotionally handicapped students, and implemented services for multicultural exceptional students. She also served as chairperson to the Infant and Toddler’s Council, Deaf Services Oversight, and Curriculum Development and Comprehensive Personnel Development Boards.
Currently retired from education, Sherle now volunteers with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department as a counselor for high-risk youth and also works with the New Hampshire associations for back to school programs for high-risk students in a similar capacity.
