Mark your calendar for Oct. 2-4 for Homecoming 2009 and Family Weekend. It’s your alumni reunion year if you graduated in 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1994, 1999 or 2004. Family Weekend is a time for current students’ families to have a Warren Wilson College experience of their own. WWC Chorale & Folk Choir “Spring 2009” CD now available
The “Spring 2009” CD by the WWC Chorale & Folk Choir, recorded and produced by White Sound Studio, is now available for purchase at the Campus Store. You also can purchase a copy by calling 828-771-3024 or by sending an e-mail to scoleman@warren-wilson.edu. In addition, the CD is available at Tune Town in Kittredge lobby during The Swannanoa Gathering, ending Aug. 8.
WWC on list of Chronicle’s “2009 Great Colleges to Work For”
Warren Wilson is among 150 four-year colleges recognized in The Chronicle of Higher Education’s 2009 Great Colleges to Work For® program. The program recognizes “small groups of colleges (based on enrollment size) for specific best practices and policies, such as compensation and benefits, faculty/administration relations and confidence in senior leadership.” Warren Wilson is one of only 11 colleges cited in the category of “Housing Assistance Programs” for faculty and staff, for schools with fewer than 3,000 students.
Did you know?
A total of 11 Warren Wilson students, alumni and staff were involved in the Montford Park Players’ production of Shakespeare’s “Cymbeline” in July. Warren Wilson alumna Charlotte Lawrence ’08, director of Warren Wilson Theatre's “Peter Pan” two seasons ago, directed “Cymbeline” at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheater in Asheville. Other Warren Wilson people involved in the production were Franklin Stone, Robert Bailey, Lauren Kriel, Kat Evans, Jennifer Donovan, Laura French, Aaron Burnell, Ashley Werling, Will Franklin and David Mycoff.
