Warren Wilson College opens at 10 a.m. TuesdayJanuary 9, 2017
Essential personnel expected to report at regular time
Warren Wilson College is delaying its Tuesday opening for nonessential employees until 10 a.m. Primary and secondary access roads to the campus remain partially ice and snow covered. Despite the scheduled start time, nonessential employees should use their best judgment and connect with supervisors before traveling to campus.
The MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College will continue to observe a regular schedule. Students, professors and staff members participating in the program’s 2017 session are currently in residence at the Asheville campus.
Per the College’s Inclement Weather Personnel Policy, “essential” employees—“work crews and their supervisors who sustain the necessary business activities and units” for the campus—are expected to report to work at regularly scheduled times. Essential employees have specific job functions that are critical during emergency situations. A complete list of essential workforce members is available here: http://goo.gl/i0Y0Hk
The decision to cancel classes, adjust class schedules or close the campus rests with Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Paula Garrett in consultation with Cathy Kramer, vice president of applied learning, and Paul Perrine, dean of students.
