Mail and Packages

Warren Wilson College operates a U.S. Post Office branch in Lower Gladfelter. This federal office handles special delivery, express, registered and certified letters and packages and sells stamps and money orders. The Campus Mail Center distributes intra-campus mail at no cost, along with mail and packages received from the U.S. Postal Service.

New students can begin receiving package shipments after August 1 for fall semester and January 2 for spring semester. To send mail or packages, use the following addresses:

Email

Every student has a free campus e-mail account. Your e-mail address will be in this form: username@warren-wilson.edu. WWC relies heavily on email for campus communications so you will need to check your account often. You will be required to set up your new WWC e-mail address before Orientation. WWC Inside page

The hub for campus information is the WWC Inside page. The Inside page contains daily news and announcements as well as links to campus resources such as the campus events calendar, CampusWeb, web mail, the library website, academic pages, electronic bulletin boards and other sites. Set the inside page as your web browser’s home page.

Emergency

If you need to be reached because of an emergency, have your family call the main college number (828)298-3325 or the Student Life Office (828)771-3800 during day hours. After-hours, call the Public Safety emergency number at (828)230-4592. For campus emergency text alerts, visit the the Emergency Text Alert System page to set up text alerts for information about in climate weather and other important campus emergency alerts.

Fax

The student services FAX number is: (828)299-4841. Faxes are delivered to campus mailboxes.

Telephone

The residence halls have a telephone / voice mail system. A direct line telephone number will be issued to you with your housing assignment. With this number, you can call and receive both intra-campus and outside calls. You can use any calling card or 1-800-service for long distance calls. Calling Cards are available in the WWC Bookstore. Cell phone service can be unreliable due to our mountain location. Many students use both a landline and cell phone for this reason. Check with your cell phone service provider to make sure you can get service in Swannanoa.
