Battery and Printer Cartridge Collection Station

How We Do it: Students and Staff drop off used printer cartridges and batteries. The Recycling crew sorts these items and we send them to various recyclers.  We currently send cartridges to Cartridge World, who pays us for our cartridges.  Rechargeable batteries and cell phones are also recycled through RBRC (The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation).

Why We Do it: This reduces the amount of hazardous waste sent to the landfill and cell phones can be re-used by people who can’t afford to buy a new one.

How You Can Do it: To recycle rechargeable batteries, tools, and phones, go to rbrc.com/org and search for a local store that will take these items.  Many stores like Home Depot, Radio Shack, Lowes, Office Depot, Sams Club, and Sears participate in the RBRC recycling program and will take your recyclable items for free.

You can drop your printer cartridges at Cartridge World: cartridgeworldusa.com.

Location:
1550 Hendersonville Road, Asheville - (828) 274-6769

You can start a fundraiser at a school by collecting old printer cartridges, which collected at a mass can be very profitable and also saves them from going to a landfill.
