The Church and Interfaith Relations Council of
Warren Wilson College
The mission of the Church and Interfaith Relations Council is to establish, enhance and sustain cordial and mutually supportive relationships between the College and its faith-related constituents. The College has a covenant relationship with its founding Church, the Presbyterian Church (USA), and covenant agreements with four neighboring presbyteries--Charlotte, Salem, Western NC and New Hope. It also enjoys the support of individuals and foundations with a faith orientation, and seeks partnership with any who wish to participate in the College's mission.
In fulfilling this mission, council members are asked to:
- Become informed about the College: its mission statement and history; its programs and current needs; its latest accomplishments; its goals and opportunities for the future
- Remember Warren Wilson College, its mission, and the community in prayer
- Participate in the College's program of annual giving (the Warren Wilson College Fund)
- Represent and advocate for Warren Wilson College in their congregations, communities, and personal networks
- Find and recruit young people to consider Warren Wilson College
- Invite individuals to visit and tour the campus
- Encourage financial support of Warren Wilson College
- Suggest names of others who might become friends and supporters of the College
- Recommend names of potential members of the council and board of trustees
