Miss Rose Knoop first became acquainted with Warren Wilson College through Homer and Helen Jones, who for over thirty years worked to take the "Warren Wilson Story" to friends and colleagues all over the country. Miss Knoop was a dedicated churchwoman who came to believe in our mission of the education of the whole person through the Triad of academics, work and service. Rose was the only child of William and Rose Knoop, and in 1978 she established a scholarship fund at the College in their memory. Miss Knoop died in 2001 at the age of 100. The earnings from her fund go to help a deserving student with demonstrated financial need.
