Miss Elinor Martin was a friend of Warren Wilson College from the 1988 until her death in 2000 at the age of 90. She lived in Washington D.C. and was an active member of the Western Presbyterian Church. Although her body was aging, her mind was sharp and her spirit was young. She loved being around students and participating in the Archaeology Field School, where she would sit in the shade and sort through the artifacts that were found. Part of her will has gone to the Archaeology Field School. If the Field School no longer exists, the funds are to be used to establish a scholarship “for the benefit of academically deserving students demonstrating financial need.”
