Mary Jackman Meddick Scholarship

Mary Jackman Meddick served Warren Wilson College from 1966-1969 as a house mother while also working in the business office. During that time she came to love the College and made known to members of her family that she would like to leave a gift to the College at the time of her death. In 1984 Mrs. Meddick became ill and could no longer handle her financial affairs. At this time her niece and attorney-in-fact, Mrs. Florence Shafer, made sure that Mrs. Meddick’s wishes were carried out and established a trust fund through the Presbyterian Foundation in Mrs. Meddick’s honor. The earnings from this fund come to Warren Wilson College annually for a deserving student with demonstrated financial need.
