Day 29, 7/11/02
Today was a long one, but at least it was cloudy the whole time. We got rained out temporarily, but just long enough to have lunch during that time. A lot of mapping was done today, including planview and profile maps of several excavation squares and a map of Feature 23. One new unit was opened over Structure 2 in an attempt to find a corner of this building. Excavation squares east of Structure 1 have revealed an arc of double or even triple postholes. This afternoon several of the units were backfilled by Terrel Knutson and Starling Bissette from Appalachian Naturescapes. They made a job that could have taken days take only a few hours. We appreciated their help enormously .
