September 29 -- Warren Wilson 0, Toccoa Falls 3
The Owls men's soccer team fell to 3-4 on the season after a 3-0 loss under the lights at Toccoa Falls College. The game remained tied at 0-0 throughout the first half before Toccoa scored in the 72nd minute on an own goal. They quickly followed that up with a penalty kick goal merely 10 minutes later.
September 20 -- Warren Wilson 2, LaGrange College 1 (OT)
The Warren Wilson men's soccer team improved to 3-3 on the season following a 2-1 overtime victory over LaGrange College. LaGrange opened up the scoring in the 9th minute on a goal by Nic Harris. The game remained 1-0 for most of the game until Kyle Carpenter found Graham Ballard off a corner kick in the 86th minute. In overtime, Marcelo Ramirez found Alex Babbitt for what proved to be the gamewinner at 102:30 to secure the 2-1 victory for the Owls. Warren Wilson outshot LaGrange 12-7 behind three shots apiece from Luke Bernard and Murad Ibrahimi.
September 13 -- Warren Wilson 1, Emory and Henry 4
The Fighting Owls men's soccer team fell to 2-3 on the season after a 4-1 loss to Emory and Henry College. EHC got on the board first scoring on a penalty kick at the 4:36 mark of the first half. The Owls quickly responded off a corner kick by Kyle Carpenter that found Stefan Janjic to make it a 1-1 game at the half. Emory and Henry scored what proved to be the gamewinner in the 68th minute on another penalty kick and scored two more goals in the second half to make it a 4-1 final. Goalie Stephen Cavallo recorded 8 saves for the Owls.
September 9 -- Warren Wilson 0, Union College (KY) 1
The Warren Wilson men's soccer team fell to 2-2 on the season after a tough 1-0 loss at Union College (KY). Mbizo Mzamane scored on a penalty kick in the 71st minute to record the win for Union. The Owls were oushot by Union 15-10. Goalkeeper Brett Buffington recorded 11 saves.
September 6 -- Warren Wilson 4, Brevard 2
The Warren Wilson College men's soccer team (2-1) defeated rival Brevard College 4-2 behind three goals from senior forward Luke Bernard. Fellow senior Kyle Carpenter (Hendersonville, NC/Hendersonville HS) opened up the scoring 2:41 into the game on touches from Alex Babbitt and Max Bresor. Brevard tied the game 1-1 at 33:21 but the Owls quickly responded off the ensuing kick off where Sefton Dennis found Bernard just 13 seconds later. Warren Wilson took a 3-1 lead into the half and then added their fourth goal at 71:43 when Carpenter found the head of Bernard off a corner kick.
September 2 -- Warren Wilson 0, Johnson Bible 4
The Warren Wilson men's soccer team (1-1) was defeated by Johnson Bible College 4-0. The visiting team led 1-0 at the half and scored 3 unanswered goals in the second to claim the victory. The Owls outshot Johnson Bible 17-9.
August 30 -- Warren Wilson 3, Chowan 0
The Warren Wilson College men's soccer team (1-0) opened up their 2008 campaign with a 3-0 victory over Division II Chowan University. Junior Max Bressor opened up the scoring in the 22nd minute on an assist from senior Luke Bernard to take a 1-0 lead into the half. The duo then connected again in the 58th minute two take a 2-0 advantage. Bernard then finished the scoring with a goal of his own. The senior forward finished the game with a hand in every goal tallying one goal and two assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Stephen Cavallo tallied 6 saves for the shutout.
