Coach Shuster Wins 50 Miler
In a rare competetive appearance, mountain biking coach Art Shuster claimed the first place prize in the veteran's division of the Fool's Gold 100.  Competing in the 50 mile trek through the mountains of North Georgia near Dahlonega, Shuster raced through the finish line in 4 hours and 43 minutes.  Shuster's vision of an uncontested win was rudely interrupted in the last mile by the appearance of a hard charging competitor and an unexpected snag on a log crossing.  The result was a vicious sprint to the finish and a narrow two second winning margin.
