Warren Wilson Ties Averett 0-0
The Warren Wilson women's soccer team (2-2-2) tied Averett University 0-0 in double overtime.  The game was very evenly matched throughout as each team had chances in overtime to secure the win.  Owls goalkeeper Rachel Schonberg recorded 8 saves to record the shutout.  Forward Natalie Epstein was the main attacker for Warren Wilson tallying 4 shots including 3 on goal.

Owls Notch 1-1 Tie with Montreat
The Warren Wilson women's soccer team (2-2-1) notched a 1-1 tie with Montreat College.  Trailing 1-0 with 8 minutes remaining in the match, junior Natalie Epstein beat the Montreat goalie to secure the 1-1 tie. 

Owls lose 2-0 at Ferrum College
The Fighting Owls women's soccer team fell to 2-2 on the season after a 2-0 loss to Ferrum College

Women's Soccer Team Improves to 2-1
The Warren Wilson women's soccer team improved to 2-1 on the season after an 8-0 victory over Kentucky Christian University.  The Owls jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 7th minute on a goal by Liz Wilcox.  Warren Wilson took a 5-0 lead into the second half behind two goals from forward Serena Shah.  For the game, the Owls were led by Wilcox's two goals and one assist.  Eight different players earned points in the match for Warren Wilson as they outshot Kentucky Christian 29-3. 

Women's Soccer Team Earns First Win 2-1 over Toccoa Falls
The women's soccer team earned their first win of the season after a 2-1 victory at Toccoa Falls College (GA).  Liz WIlcox opened up the scoring on an assist from Kelsey Chandler.  Toccoa Falls responded just 9 minutes later.  Sophomore Eliana Winderman (pictured left) tallied the second goal for the Owls which proved to be the game winner with just over 17 minutes remaining in the contest.

Owls Fall to Chowan 3-0
The Warren Wilson College women's soccer team (0-1) dropped their opening match of their 2008 campaign 3-0 to Division II Chowan University.  The score remained 1-0 at the half before the Hawks scored two quick goals twenty-five minutes into the second half.  Goalkeeper Rachel Schonberg tallied seven saves.  The Owls managed just five shots led by Natalie Epstein's two.

Gaskin Named Honorable Mention All-American
Sarah Gaskin, a senior midfielder from Athens, GA, was named Honorable Mention All-American by the USCAA for her efforts during the 2007 season.

 

 

 

Four Named to All-Academic Team
Four Lady Owls were named to the USCAA All-Academic National Team.  Lauren Kriel, Amy Witt, Amanda Williams, and Lauren Bangasser were all named to the team.  For consideration, student-athletes must be in at least sophomore standing and maintain a 3.5 grade point average.
