Research/Development Activities: Mike has had extensive experience within the non-profit sector of business. Prior to coming to Warren Wilson, Mike worked as a Non-Profit Organization Consultant, in Hendersonville, NC, where he was responsible for providing technical assistance, training and leadership to non-profit organizations. Through this, he was involved with the organizational development of start-up organizations, such as The Affordable Housing Group, Historic Seventh Avenue District, Alliance for Human Services, Hinton Rural Life Center, Pacolet Area Conservancy, and Western Carolina Community Action and Mountain Community School. Mike also served as the Executive Director for the Housing Assistance Corporation, in Hendersonville, NC, where he was responsible for directing the growth of this organization, which funded the construction of 100 new housing units and the repair or rehabilitation of over 600 homes.
Mike previously worked as an adjunct faculty member at Georgia State University and UNC - Asheville. Currently, he teaches courses in Leadership & Management, Non-Profit Management, & Entrepreneurship. He is responsible for the development of the internship program and the new Service Leadership course at Warren Wilson College. He has also led a service learning work trip with Warren Wilson students.

Personal Info: Mike has been involved in quite a bit of volunteer work, including the renovation of ten homes and work trips to Nicaragua and Guatemala with Habitat for Humanity and the Presbyterian Church. He has done volunteer work at a children's home in Italy and a public boarding school in Denmark. He worked with the Citizens Democracy Corps work in St. Petersburg, Russia, as well as the City of Hendersonville Zoning Board. He is a volunteer for the Blue Ridge Literacy Council volunteer and he is a Board Member at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Western North Carolina.
