Helen Powers Scholarships in Business

 

We have two scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each to support students who will be juniors and seniors, with a declared major in Sustainable Business.

 

Application Guidelines

Purpose and Eligibility:

The Scholarships are designed to assist students in completing their education through support for the direct costs of tuition and room and board.  To be eligible, students must be in good academic standing and have a declared major in Sustainable Business.  Preference for scholarships will be based on a student’s academic achievement, dedication to study, personal development, and successful performance across the triad.

 

Application Letter to Panel:

To apply, please write a letter addressed to the “The Sustainable Business Scholarship Panel.”  This letter should discuss your eligibility and the following specific questions:

  1. How will the scholarship help you complete or enhance your education?
  2. What are your specific learning objectives for the upcoming year?
  3. What evidence/accomplishment from your time at Warren Wilson demonstrates your dedication to study, personal development, and sustainable business?
  4. Any additional information you wish to provide such as career goals, dreams, etc.

 

Additional Information required:

In addition to the letter, please submit, or have the following submitted, by the application deadline noted below:

  1. Have one faculty member (outside the department) and one crew supervisor write you a recommendation that addresses “your dedication and ability to accomplish your educational goals.
  2. A copy of your transcript (for at least two years, include prior schools if you have only been at Warren Wilson College for one year).
  3. Evidence of “good standing” in work and service.
  4. A copy of your resume.

 

The deadline for this application is the Tuesday before October and March breaks.
