While there is no internal Warren Wilson process for the Echoing Green Fellowship, you are encouraged to let the Liaison know that you are applying, and you are welcome to seek our help during the application process.

Who May Apply
Applicants should be 18 years of age or older. Each applicant proposes an independent, autonomous project that must be his or her original idea. As the primary decision maker for the project's development and management, the applicant must be prepared to make a full-time commitment to its development (a minimum of 35 hours a week for at least two years). A project may be in "start-up" phase which, according to Echoing Green, means that the project may have been in existence for up to two years. Projects started under the direction of or for an existing organization cannot be considered independent or autonomous.

Application Pool Description
By the end of the process, Echoing Green will have narrowed the 2500+ applications to 12-20 fellowships.

Applicants do not need to be U.S. citizens. However, if the applicant is not a U.S. citizen, no services in connection with the fellowship may be performed in the United States. No more than two individuals may apply as a "partnership;" both partners must make a full-time commitment to the development of the project. It is expected that the Fellow will resign from any other current employment. Student applicants should note that they will be ineligible for their fellowship stipend if their project is delayed due to time commitment conflicts with their studies.
