While there is no internal Warren Wilson process for the Samuel Huntington Public Service Award, you are encouraged to let the Liaison know that you are applying, and you are welcome to seek our help during the application process.
Who May Apply
All graduating college seniors from accredited colleges in the U.S., including international students, who are interested in pursuing a year of public service.
Application Pool Description
One award is guaranteed annually; often two or three have been selected from a pool of 60 to 80 applicants.

Award Description and Duration
The Samuel Huntington Public Service Award provides $10,000 to enable the recipient to undertake a one-year public service project anywhere in the world. At the beginning of the project $5,000 is awarded; the remaining $5,000 is awarded upon receipt of a six-month progress report.
Application Requirements and Deadline
Please complete and mail in an application form (pdf) by January 18, 2013. Your application should also include a one-page cover sheet, proposal, budget, transcript, resume, and three letters of recommendation.
Notification
Applicants are notified of their status by mid-March. Semi-finalists are then interviewed personally prior to their selection for the award. The Samuel Huntington Public Service Award is awarded by mid-April.
