Many people spend more time planning a two-week vacation than they ever devote to focused thinking about what they want to do with their lives.
Career Services can help you to begin or continue your process of discernment--discovering and clarifying the gifts, skills, commitments, passions, and ideals that you want to pursue in your life.
We have many resources to help you:
- One-on-one counseling to help you frame a vision for your life and set goals to reach that vision.
- Books and resource materials on many kinds of work, learning, and service.
- A directory of WWC alumni experienced in various fields of work and service.
- A Mentor Program that can link you with an experienced professional in your field of interest.
- Internship programs that allow you to work for a time in a field that interests you.
- Job sampling and job shadowing programs to help you get a taste of work in a particular profession.
- The Summer Job Fair and information sessions (meetings on campus with professionals in a particular field) to help you learn more about different kinds of work.
- Meetings with representatives from the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and other service groups.
- Information on graduate schools.
