The first thing to know about time management is that there is no such thing as time management.
We cannot manage time. Time comes and goes. (More accurately, we come into the world and go, while time stays.)
What we can do is manage our behavior with regard to time, in the context of time, being mindful of time.
Each of us has 168 hours a week. Twenty-four hours times seven days. This is not negotiable.
You get 168 hours. So does the poorest person on the planet, and nobody can take that away. So does Bill Gates, and all his billions won?t buy him an extra minute.
Career Services presents occasional workshops on time management. (Okay, there's no such thing, but it's a useful term anyway.) The workshops are brief. (We don't want to waste your time.) We can also talk with you individually about using time wisely. We can provide a reading list of books on time management that are available in the WWC Library. We will soon have some audiobooks on cassette and CD so you can learn more about using time by listening to audio books while you run, work out, or drive.
There are no "one-size-fits-all" tools for time management. Each individual person needs time management tools and ideas that work well with his or her personality, lifestyle, circumstances, and other factors. You can find those on your own, or you can ask someone in Career Services to work with you to find the tools that work best for you.
