Our connection to Warren Wilson College is one of the things that makes our church community unique. And we especially love having students in our midst.
Students help lead worship, sing in our choir and play in our bell choir. They also serve in our ministry to Room in the Inn, a rotating women's shelter we host twice a semester.
Our pastor, Steve Runholt, co-leads a weekly inter-denominational fellowship group, which welcomes students from many faith persepctives.
Called the Emmaus Group, our gatherings are centered around a shared, home cooked meal, which is followed by times of discussion, conversation and scripture study. In the breaking of bread and the sharing of our lives together, we experience the presence of the risen Christ among us.
Our congregation also reaches out to the campus community in a number of other ways. We help new students move into their dorms, host pot lucks for new and returning students and provide funding, as we are able, for mission and service trips.
Every December, we host a hugely popular Cookies and Carols sing-along during finals week, when we belt out our favorite Christmas carols and then gather afterwards for incredibly good cookies and other goodies.
In short, students are an important part of our life and we have a blast together!
