General Chemistry Provides a solid background in the fundamental principles of chemistry for science majors. Assumes a working knowledge of high school algebra and chemistry. Subject areas are atomic and molecular structure, stoichiometry, the periodic table, intoductory thermodynamics, an introduction to organic chemistry, solutions, acids and bases oxidation-reduction reactions, reaction rates, and equilibria. A lab fee is required. This course satisfies the Triad Education Natural Science course requirement.
Prerequisite: CHM 105 Introduction to Environmental Chemistry or permission from instructor.
