Chemistry is an integral science, touching upon every aspect of our lives. Chemists interact with biologists, physicists, and environmental specialists as well as with business professionals, artists and educators. Warren Wilson College offers a strong foundation in all standard areas of chemistry: organic, inorganic, analytical, and physical, as well as applied courses in biochemistry and environmental chemistry.
A carefully planned major in Chemistry can prepare students for graduate school, medical, dental, and pharmacy or veterinary school, careers in sales or secondary education, as well as a good job as a traditional "bench chemist." Chemists have always had excellent employment opportunities.
The Biochemistry concentration is suitable for students preparing for graduate programs in biochemical or biomedical fields, human or veterinary medicine, and all health areas. Opportunities for exciting careers in these areas should be abundant in the 21st century.
