The Teacher Education Department
Take a virtual tour of the Education Department at Warren Wilson College!

Welcome to the Carson Building! The main floor of Carson is where the Education Department and Learning Resource Center are located. The Environmental Leadership Center, Religion Department and Peace Studies Department are located on the top floor. The Outdoor Leadership Department is located on the bottom floor.

When you walk in the front door of Carson, this is what you will see. The stairs going down on the left lead to the Outdoor Leadership Department, and the stairs going up lead to the Education Department. On both sides of the landing are bulletin boards that are constantly updated with exciting happenings around Warren Wilson and local teaching job opportunities.

After climbing the short flight of stairs this is what you will see. On the right is the Education Department Learning Resource Center (LRC) and Classroom 12. On the left is the door that leads to the Education Department Office, which is where you can find the Education Crew, the Crew Leader, Administrative Assistant Nancy Hofmann and the Carson Hall Conference Room. Also on the left is the building copy machine and the hallway that leads to Education Department faculty offices. The Learning Resource Center was made possible by the Peterson Fund. Established by Marian P. Anderson and Cyrus E. Anderson, this center was created for the training of students who aim to become teachers. The Teacher Education Program is sincerely grateful to the Anderson's for this generous gift.

This is the Education Crew's office, Carson 13. To the right is the much loved kitchen.

A glance through the window on the lefthand side of the crew's office reveals Nancy Hofmann's office. Mrs. Hofmann is the Education Department's Administrative Assistant and the Education Department Crew Supervisor. If you have a general question, just ask Nancy!

For Work Day 2005, the Education Crew painted the office supply closet door. This started a bit of an Education Crew tradition and now each year new crew members add their own mark to the door.

This is the Carson building's copy machine. Everyone seems to have a love/hate relationship with this copier. Quite often you can see members of the Carson crew having intense and sometimes violent battles with our rather uncooperative copier.
