The ELC draws upon the resources of Warren Wilson College to provide Applied Services for the reigon and beyond
Applied Services is an outreach arm of Warren Wilson College’s Environmental Leadership Center (ELC) and bridges the resources of the College to the community and beyond. Applied Services furthers the mission of Warren Wilson College - to foster responsible environmental action – through the delivery of meaningful, data-driven research projects and organizational consulting to aid in regional problem-solving and nonprofit effectiveness.
We Provide These Services:
Consulting Services for Nonprofits: teambuilding, board development, strategic planning, fundraising, program development, and nonprofit management
Research-Based Projects: drawing upon the resources of the College and regional colleagues, the ELC undertakes such reports as the Economic Impact of Nonprofits in an 18-County Region, a collaborative project with the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina
GIS: with an extensive databank to draw upon, the ELC develops custom data maps and large scale projects that are essential aids to assessment and community planning (like its comprehensive change analysis report, Mapping Change in Buncombe County, and its current stream assessment project for USFW)
Environmental Education: support for higher education institutions, environmental groups, and schools to develop environmental education curriculum
We Serve Diverse Organizations:
Cooper Riis, Spruce Pine Montessori School, the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, Pacolet Area Conservancy, USFW, the Southern Environmental Law Center and more
