Welcome to the Financial Aid Office web site for Warren Wilson College.  Here you will find information to help you through the process of applying for need-based aid and educational loans.  Please contact your Admission Counselor if you have questions about the process of applying for merit-based scholarship.

The Financial Aid Office awards need-based aid, which means that it is contingent on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Warren Wilson College Financial Aid Application (WWCFAA).  Your award will consist of the Federal Direct Loan (either Subsidized, Unsubsidized, or a combination of both) and the work earnings (Federal Work-Study, Federal Work College, or Institutional).  In addition, depending on need, you may be eligible for WWC institutional need-based grant money, Federal grant funds, or state aid programs.

All of our resident students are required to work on campus 15 hours per week at minimum wage.  That work, combined with an Expected Family Contribution (FAFSA results), make up the base for all aid awards.  The financial aid staff will explore additional options such as loans, and if eligible, grants (repayment of a loan is required, but grants are "gifts").

You are encouraged to explore this site along with that of the Federal government (www.studentaid.ed.gov).  It is important to the process that you understand the terms of any aid offered.

Every attempt is made to provide comprehensive and accurate information even though that can be quite a task allowing for constantly changing policies and regulations.  If error is found with any section of this site, it will be corrected promptly, however government and institutional policy will always take precedence.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions!
