Who We Are
First Year Programs is here to help first year students transition into college life. We offer programs to connect students with the Warren Wilson community, teach college "survival" skills, and help smooth the transition from one home to another.
Personally, we are Natalie Nimmer, Elizabeth Brenum, Martha Skelly, Maura Huddleston, and Rachel Slaughter. When one of us is in the office, which is often, the door is always open. Natalie has on office on the 1st floor of Sunderland and the student crew members' office is on the 2nd floor of Sunderland by the common room. Stop by anytime! If you have an idea for a program or activity, talk to us and we will work with you to make it happen.

Natalie Nimmer, Coordinator of Residential First Year Programs, leads WWC's efforts to welcome first year students into residence life. Natalie lived in the Pacific for four years, so Spam is one of her favorite foods.
Elizabeth Brenum is sophmore and a social work major. She spends her summers riding horses and teaching lessons to kids of all ages. When at Wilson she looks forward to the contra dances and service trips to First Presbyterain Home for Children and Teens. In this picture she is in Ecuador holding a butterfly.

Martha Skelley is excited about working with First Year Programs. She is a freshman at Wilson, and is interested in majoring in Environmental Studies. She loves nature and enjoys hiking, biking, and any other outdoor sports or activities. This picture was taken at a conference in Daytona Beach, FL.

A freshman at Warren Wilson, Maura Huddlestone is already in Love with the school and just as thrilled to be involved with First Year Programs. She is a Pre-Vet major who loves backpacking, traveling, and good food immensely. Maura is game for any adventure that broadens her horizons (and includes some fun!) Maura traveled to South America recently for a volunteer project.
