Every First-Year Seminar (regardless of its specific topic) engages students and faculty in a semester of inquiry around a broad, interdisciplinary topic or question. Utilizing various modes of inquiry as well as varied and engaging pedagogies, the seminar aims to help students develop their ability to think critically, assess problems broadly, and communicate effectively. It aims to help students connect with faculty, peers, the College, and the Triad curriculum. It also encourages students to become aware of their potential and their limits and to seek the resources (of faculty, staff, peers, and self) in order to succeed in all aspects of their first year.

- Your choice of seminar need not follow an intended major; choose any topic that interests you.
- Pre-register early for greatest availability of seminars (CampusWeb opens: 9am EDT 7/8/2011).
- At this time you are pre-registering only for your First-Year Seminar.
- CampusWeb will close for FYS registration at 5pm on July 15, 20011.
- If your first choice of seminar is filled, please choose another. You may request to be put on a waiting list. Email registrar@warren-wilson.edu with 1) your preferred seminar and 2) your full name. Only rarely do seats open in a full FYS; but if space becomes available, we will contact you
