This first-year seminar initiates you into academic inquiry by raising questions about the origins and premises of work. You'll weigh the promises and the problems, you'll negotiate your own experiences with theories, and you'll connect history with contemporaneity. With this expanded sense of work—and the direct connection of service—you'll complete the course with a broader understanding and an active, critical engagement with the triad that makes Warren Wilson College.
As a first-year seminar, this course interweaves this cental work of inquiry with Transition Sessions that will involve you in crucial components of college life, some of them particular to Warren Wilson College.
We'll work hard. And we'll have a good time doing so.
