Women's Health Services: Free services at Buncombe County Health Department at 37 Woodfin Street (across from the big YMCA and big church with the greenish dome). If you are going for birth control pills, you have to call the clinic (250-5256) the morning before you want an appointment. You have to call them between the hours of 7:30 am and 8:00 am. They have emergency contraception available to anyone if you arrive at the main lobby of the health department before 4 pm. To get things for free, you have to tell them that you have no income and you don't want your parents to know you are seeking care. If you can afford to pay, then I suggest you do so. Our tax money goes to this clinic to help people who are truly poor.
Planned Parenthood has great services plus Saturday and evening hours. Call 252-7928 for information. They are located at 603 Biltmore Avenue. You can also get emergency contraception with Planned Parenthood.Warren Wilson College has a contract with Planned Parenthood to offer you reduced prices.
