Alternative Press Collection

The library has a growing collection of alternative press magazines. Generally, these titles cover topics from a different perspective than the mainstream media, if they're covered by the mainstream press at all. Areas covered by these titles include the environment, activism, social justice, politics, health, nutrition, spirituality, feminism, and more.

These magazines are great for browsing and are fun to read. They are also informative and can be good sources for research projects. If you'd like to use these magazines as part of a comprehensive search on a topic, you can use the Alternative Press Index or the Alternative Press Index Archive to perform a quick search of the majority of the titles in our collection.
