- Clio's Digital Forge--primary resources and images for teaching early American history.
- Chronology of the History of Slavery and Racism
- Colonial Williamsburg Foundation: Notable for its "Electronic Field Trips," and highly recommended by our history faculty.
- Digital Library of Appalachia -- offers electronic editions of bibliographic, full text, and media resources, providing information on the culture, geography, environment and history of the Appalachian region.
- Documenting the American South
- Gateway to African American History--from the US Department of State, this site includes documents, articles, Internet sites and other resources which honor and
acknowledge the accomplishments of African-Americans.
- The Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition--includes over 200 primary documents from 1692 through the 20th century.
- Historic government publications from World War II: a digital library--More than 200 WWII-era pamphlets in the Southern Methoist University collection are digitized here, with an emphasis on the home front.
- History of Slavery -- Compiled from archive, library and internet source documentation, this timeline on slavery and in part the history of racism, has been used to guide the direction of independent research into the history of enslaved Americans of African descent.

- Encyclopedia of the Orient--covers the history and culture of countries which we would call the middle east.
- HyperHistory Online--includes timelines, "lifelines" (as in who lived when), and historical maps. The World History chart is a nice chronology, from David and Solomon through Roosevelt and Churchill.

The documents are comprised of letters, legal proceedings, military orders, financial papers, and archaeological images relating to Native Americans in the Southeast. The first 18 months of the Cherokee Phoenix, the first newspaper published in a Native American language, are also available through the Georgia Historic Newspapers database.
