On Saturday, April 10, 2010 at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, three students and department chair Gretchen Whipple attended the 4th annual UT Undergraduate Math Conference. We heard more than fifteen presentations ranging in topic form "The Influence of Education in Reducing the HIV epidemic" to "Cut sets in Zero-Divisor Graphs of Finite Commutative Rings." Freshman Meron Amare presented her findings from an independent study. This conference was an inspiring opportunity to hear about the research other undergraduate mathematics students are currently doing. |

Something was funny during a break between student talks.
