The Warren Wilson Program offers students a close, sustained relationship--an apprenticeship--with masters in the field: excellent writers who have stature within the writing community and who are dedicated and conscientious teachers. Usually at least half the teaching staff for any given semester are writers with long experience in the Program--a "core" group familiar with our format and standards, as well as the evolving work and development of current students. The remainder are faculty who teach with us less regularly, and new faculty. Our distinguished faculty have won Guggenheims and MacArthurs, National Book Awards and Pulitzers, have served as state and U.S. poets laureate.
