Gamelan is a traditional instrumental ensemble of Indonesia that includes many metal percussion instruments. This course is an introduction to Indonesian gamelan performance, and it will focus on a particular style (Javanese or Balinese) depending on the semester. While auditions are not required, one must demonstrate competence in musical ability.
