
Dr. Milton Crotts holds both Bachelor and Master of Music Education degrees from UNC Greensboro and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. As Music Director for the Guam Symphony from 1984 through 1999, Dr. Crotts was awarded three Governor's Arts Awards for Music and received the Governor's Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1999 he was nominated for the National Medal for the Arts and was included in the 2000 Whoˇ˝s Who Among American Teachers. Milt has conducted orchestras in the U.S. and Japan, including the Tokyo Symphony, Tokyo Memorial Orchestra, and Tokyo City Philharmonic.
Milt has been at Warren Wilson College since August 2003 and established the College Chorale and Folk Choir. Milt has created an opportunity for a vibrant, energetic, and eclectic group of students to come together, share their love of singing and music, and explore and learn in a supportive and welcoming environment. Milt’s former academic appointments include Associate Professor of Music at both Davidson College and the University of Guam.
