Jupiter at opposition
This is the diagram showing the position of Jupiter and the earth
when Jupiter is at opposition - i. e. Jupiter is on the opposite side
of the earth from the sun. The outlines of the planets show
snapshots at roughly equal time intervals and the arrows show the
relative speeds of the planets around the sun.
