
This is a
series of 10 one second exposures of the moon approaching Alcyone - the
brighte Pleiad - and occulting it. You can see two other fainter
stars
disapperaing as well. The 10 exposures span a time of about 5 1/2
minutes. The individual images were aligned on the stars so that
we
can see the disk of the moon drifting across the stars. On each
image
the bright part of the crescent moon is just out of the picture to
prevent lens flare and over exposure. |
