Bob received his B.A. in Psychology from Duke University (1987) and his Ph.D. in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Florida (1992). Bob joined the WWC faculty in 1998 and regularly teaches Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, Health Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Theories & Techniques of Counseling and Psychotherapy, and Sport Psychology. Bob has led three Warren Wilson Worldwide Courses: two to Costa Rica and one to Greece. He and his wife, Christine, Spanish professor at WWC, have three children: twins, Julien and Sofia, and younger brother Nolan. Bob enjoys hiking, racquet sports, literary fiction, movies, and music. Martha received her B.A. in Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and her Ph.D. from Purdue University. Martha regularly teaches Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, Social Psychology, Theories of Personality, Ecopsychology, and Environmental Psychology. Martha has led student trips to Austria, Northern Italy, and Nepal. She and her husband, Shawn, and their sons, Grayson and Desmond, enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, playing and listening to music, reading, and gardening.

Kathryn Burleson earned her B.S. in psychology from Appalachian State University followed by her M.A. in psychology from Humboldt State University in Arcata California, and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her dissertation in developmental psychology explored students self-growth during a transition to a school for the arts. She joined the WWC faculty in 2006 after teaching in Colorado for 2 years. Her current interests include using Service Learning as a teaching strategy and learning how children develop within various cultural contexts. She enjoys teaching Introduction to Psychology, Cultural Psychology, Infant, Child, Adolescent, and Adult Development and Aging. During free time she is likely outside, doing yoga, or listening to live music with her husband, Brad.

Jen earned a B.S. in biology and psychology from the University of Mary Washington in 2003 and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Wake Forest University in 2009. She enjoys teaching Biopsychology, Drugs & Behavior, Sensation & Perception, Learning & Conditioning, Cognition, Intro to Psychology and Research Methods. Jen's previous research has focused on brain mechanisms of plasticity, or how our environment and experiences can change the structure and function of the brain. She's also interested in many other areas of psychology, including memory, perception, attention, and neurobiological disorders and has recently been very excited about partnering with groups in the local community to engage students and other community members in learning together about the the brain and behavior. When she's not at WWC, Jen enjoys being outside with her husband, Ryan, and their two dogs.
